ABOUT

Meet our Staff

Our Minister

The Rev. Dr. Mòrar Murray-Hayes, D.D.

Minister for 49 years, teacher of ministers at three theological colleges, coach of congregations in transition for United and Lutheran churches, and mentor to many, Mòrar was a pioneer in the establishment of women in ordained ministry.

Mòrar’s commitment to the ministry of lay people, and her ease of engaging diverse theological perspectives was formed by her education at McGill University, where, with Christians from a wide spectrum of traditions, she studied Judaism and Islam in addition to Christianity. Her resources for ministry were honed during a doctorate at Princeton Theological Seminary. Recently she received an honorary doctorate from her alma mater as McGill.

Co-founder of the Interfaith Council of Halton, she has been involved in educating secondary students in World religions classes for over thirty years. She loves engaging teens and young adults in conversations about things that matter to them.

Here at St. Stephen’s on-the-Hill, Mòrar is called to explore with the congregation imaginative ways we can live creatively through changing times. If you are interested in energetic and quirky preaching, and learning to think spiritually about the world and your life, and don’t mind stepping outside the box, Mòrar might just be worth checking out on Sundays at 10.30am!

Meet our Church Office Administrator

Brenda Blinco

My love of St. Stephen’s began over 20 years ago attending with my children, volunteering in the nursery during services, and later art of our legendary giant garage sales!

When the position of office administrator became available, it felt like the right fit from  the start, having worked in the administration field with both large and small companies over the years.

With this position and volunteering in stewards, fundraising, etc., it is a pleasure to work with everyone to reach our goals, as well as spending time with our wonderful congregation.
