We worship on Sunday mornings at 10:30 AM -
How often do you pray? If someone asked you to teach them how to pray do you think you could? Like reading scripture, prayer is foundational to nurturing our relationship with God. Just as we have to communicate to those around us, prayer can take our hearts and minds into a conversation with God. Prayer can keep us mindful of the needs of others. Prayer can bring us into a world that is larger than our individual selves.
Our prayer group meets weekly on Tuesday at 10:30am at the Port Credit Residences (33 Hurontario St., just north of Lakeshore Rd.). During this time we share coffee, maybe a cookie, read Scripture, share stories and insights from our own life, offer items to be held in prayer and then we pray. Sometimes we pray together, sometimes one of us takes the lead, sometimes we pray in silence. We pray for whatever we bring to the table. We pray for whatever we bring in our hearts. Please join us in this valuable time of spiritual nurture and growth.
“One of his disciples said to him, ‘Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.
He said to them, ‘When you pray, say:
Father, hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread.
And forgive us our sins,
for we ourselves forgive everyone indebted to us.
And do not bring us to the time of trial.’”
